Happy valley

Inspired by a wonderful day in August 2020 when we had some easing of lockdown. I met a close friend in a place aptly named Happy Valley in Surrey. The sun shone, we walked, chatted and had a picnic, everything seemed extra brilliant and colourful. The buttercups filled the grass, and the sky was a sparkling blue..it felt very emotional. My painting reflects that colour and joy we felt meeting up as friends again after a long time being at home.
