‘Contemplation in Nature’

End of Life Care Space Newham Hospital, East London

Serendipity brought about this project from a chance phone call! A family area was being refurbished to create a better space where they could come to sit and reflect on their loved ones. Working closely with the hospital team and architects along with the Kings Fund, I created sketches and samples prior to the main manufacture. Two panels were created using a soft palette of nature’s colours inspired by gardens, with a feeling of movement. They were installed in and niches in the family area to create a focal point. I also created frosted/textured window designs continuing the nature theme, to give some sensitivity for privacy on the previously clear cafe windows, as it was opposite the bereavement centre entrance.
